Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a component of Traditional Chinese medicine that is recognized all over the world for its non-invasive, natural, and a holistic approach for treating many disorders and illnesses. Each area of our being; physical, mental and emotional is treated. Some people have a fear of needles and imagine that acupuncture is painful. However, unlike traditional Western medicine's needles that are thick and hallow, acupuncture needles are smooth, solid, and not much thicker than a single strand of hair. Some people may feel a slight sensation upon the insertion of the needle into precise acupuncture points, but this is brief and vanishes almost immediately. These sterile needles are only used once and then thrown away. Typically, people are deeply relaxed during an acupuncture session, and many fall asleep. Acupuncture stimulates your body's natural healing processes helping your body to heal itself. Acupuncture aids in treatment for a number of ailments including migraines, backaches, period pain, arthritic and rheumatic pain, post-operative pain, and post-injury pain.
Electric Muscle Stimulation
Electirc Muscle Stimulation is therapy that causes muscles in targeted areas to contract. Because of the rhythmic muscle contraction, it causes the muscles to relax. Electric stimulation increases blood flow and therefore, increases oxygen flow to the area being treated which helps in healing the muscles. You begin to heal sooner than you otherwise would have. We often use heat or cold on top of the electric stimulation pads to further speed healing. When your muscles are more relaxed, the doctor can give you a better adjustment.
Myofascial Release
A gentle blend of stretching and massage, myofascial release therapy uses hands-on manipulation of the entire body to promote healing and relieve pain. The therapy's easy stretches aim to alleviate these problems in the muscle fascia usually caused by impended motion or scarring due to injury, by breaking up, or "releasing," constrictions or snags in the muscle fascia.
Rollerbed
The rollerbed is specially designed to roll along the muscles next to the spine while you lay on your back. The rollerbed exercises and kneads the muscles, ligaments and tendons in your back. This increases the health and tone in these tissues. The bed also stretches and helps to break up fixations in chronic conditions (such as arthritis). The gentle rolling promotes natural gliding movement in the joints. Last, but certainly not least, the rollerbed helps to increase joint and disc nutrition through movement of the tissues. To have a healthy back you must keep your discs and joints healthy.
Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound uses sound waves to produce healing effects in tissues. By producing a deep penetrating heat, ultrasound goes into the muscle tissue to gently heal deeper than most other forms of therapy. Ultrasound is great at decreasing inflammation that is deep in the joint.
